1.6L 8V questions
« on: June 26, 2011, 11:09:02 AM »
ok guys I just picked up a 1.6L 8V motor from a guy to rebuild and put in my samurai.

Should I keep the harley myside kit on my 1.3 and swap it over or run the fuel injection?
I am keeping my headers so I will bead blast the stock 1.6 exhaust manifold and selling it but what price should I ask?
what can a 1.6L 8V valve cover go for if I glass bead it too?

Do you have the EFI computer? if not, just run the side draft system

yup I have the computer, intake, throttle body, wire harness, distributor, air intake stuff, and instrument cluster. If the opinion is that the sidedraft is best then I will probably try and see if I can get $250 for all of this.

Over all, EFI is going to be more efficient, and the engine will not stall
or flood on any hills, or upside down for that matter. But you might
get more HP with the side draft carb, not sure how much those flow, and
you might also find a Sammy guy that would like to swap out a stock carb
for a different type

the best performance is going to be the tbi efi. based on the year, i can modify the harness for you depending on your needs.
