Thanks Recon. The pic looks better than reality. It is showing some age, but I try take care of it.
I know. Buster is looking REALLY tired too. His paint faded on the top and now is fading on the drivers side front fender. The plastic trim inside is getting brittle... but I'm like you. I try to keep him up. I still intend to either spray or brush Monsta Liner on him. Yeah, the finish will be rough, but it would be be a good finish to protect the metal and he'd look a 100% better than he does now. Besides, I am under no illusion that anyone, beside us Zuki type sickos, would even be interested in him
if I were to ever put him up on the market for sale. That said, I
do have a guy who owns a jewelry store who offers to buy Buster every time I stop by his shop. He has a couple Trackers for down on his farm that he keeps there to drive on the property when he goes down. He loves these trucks too. I've sold him parts, tires and rims, etc, for years. A really great guy.
OBTW, Last Friday I went and test drove a 2004 Jeep Rubicon. Was contemplating buying it. 2.5" lift, just over a 100K miles, 5 speed, with BFG mud terrains and a hard and soft top with it. It rode and tracked fine on the highway... but when I took it down some of the local country roads with chuck holes it nearly drove my fillings out of my teeth. I think he had
way too much pressure in the MTs.
It was very clean and appears to have been well maintained for the year. No body rust on the upper body and just a little on the under body pan. The frame was clean enough with no rust through. Suspension was tight except for the rear driver's side control arm having just a little side-to-side play in it and needing tightened. Anyway, I thought hard on it for a few days and decided not to buy it. I have found another Rubicon that I am looking into now. They just don't make them like they did before 2007. They didn't have ABS as an "option" and they were easy to work on. Now everything is computer driven, to include sensors for the position of the steering wheel! Really? Why? That just sucks.
