suspension lift and steering geometry?

I did some searching without the answer I was looking for.
When a significant suspension lift is put on and the A-arms are dropped, when is it required to lower the steering and
Idler arm? Any of you have to deal with this? Thanks,

1994 Kick, 16v,header.2.5" exhaust,ported MAF,home made mufflers, K&N filter,5" lift with jeep LJ front springs on the rear and Ford ranger springs on front with 2 3/4 spacers,OME struts with 3" strut spacers,31/10.5 Hankook Dynapro MT on 15x7 black D's.

I've noticed with mine, 4 inches of suspension lift, that it's very sensitive to camber setup and it will tend to bump steer if not set up well. I've modified my front control arms, and there mounting position ( relocated the mounting holes to move the axle out and forward a bit) and this caused all kinds of alignment issues. Once figure out though it drives pretty nice and stable. It can't be set up 0 degrees camber or it will bump steer, so it has about .5 degrees negitive but just on the drivers side. Go figure. I do think a better center link design or some kind of centered link would be better though.

I had absolutely no issues with the Altered Ego 4.5" suspension lift. No bump steer issues even with the toe close to zero. With the center cross link style steering of the Sidekick I wouldnt expect many issues at all. The center link doesnt change it's position in relation to the steering box, no need to as the tierods can accommodate alot of lift. I set my camber at .5 degrees with 200 lbs of weight in the drivers seat and the suspension fully settled.
The camber must be checked with slider plates to allow the front tires to arch inwards and out. Pull into a parking spot while braking moderately and stop and the suspension will be squated down in front, back up and hit the brakes while stopping and the suspension will be lifted when sitting still.

A bit less than 2" body lift as the rubber donuts collapsed some. Tires seem like there gonna last forever. The Altered Ego 4.5" lift kit seems like the best on the market at this time as it is designed with all the quirks in mind.

So there isn't any excessive moving in and out of the tires thru the suspension travel outside the normal?
Altered ego doesn't drop the A-arm mounts does it? It looks like a nice lift, I wish I could afford
It!
Which body lift would be a good one to get? I will retain the stock bumpers for now!
Does the Calmini lift drop the A-arm mounting points like the procomp did?

The Altered Ego kit doesnt drop the A-Arm mounts, only the diff. I did use a set of 1" wheel spacers on the front to get close to the same width front and back.

Oh, ok! Thanks for the info, much appreciated! Do you think lowering the A-arm mount locations would cause problems?
Does the A/E lift ride nice?

You would also need to install a upper spacer on the strut and longer springs when dropping the A-arm mounts.

the 4.5" Altered ego lift rides fantastic, it does alter the wheelbase by a tad more than +3" over stock.
