There is a ball that goes between the shifter shafts, I leave it out so
if you want a twin stick or a 2WD low you don't have to take it all
apart to remove it, there are two balls under springs that keep the shift
shafts in place so they drift while driving, there are small BB size bearings
that prevent the counter shafts from turning in the case.

Hi thanks for the quick reply, well the ball is medium in size, the smallest ones are for the counter shaft,of the 2 big ones, one for
the 4wd switch that is on top of trany, and the other would go in the block that is locked with a sping pin on that low shaft.
the balls of the 2 shift shafts that are side by side are in place under those 2 14mm bolts on top,am I making any sense?

So did you put a ball between the shift shafts?

If not, that's the one, and you did yourself a favor, it just
locks the low range shaft until the 2-4 shaft is moved, with
it out you can put in a twin stick, or a 2WD low kit.

Don't worry about it

Hi I'm back,I only have a few minutes. The one I can see that is in between is one that activates the 4wd light switch, and its
one of the big ones and that one I need for my light, but I'm still left with an extra ball,I've been toying with in my mind for the
past 2 days and I just can't remember that ball goes.
Anyway I will call my zuki dealer in the morning an ask if he can fax me diagram or some sort of parts layout,I have to figure this
out,you know,I don't realy care for the t.case at this point, its me forgetting where this ball goes that pisses me off.
Ok I have to go,thanks WILD,I will let you know how it goes.
I will try to post pics soon.

Ya, that's one of them, this one you would have to pull out the high/low
range shaft to get the ball in there, it fit's in between the 2 shafts, I'm sure
that's the one you left out, as you covered all the other ones.

Like I said, not to worry, if I had another case I could take a pic to show you

Hopefully you figured it out, if its the ball mentioned I'm assuming it will look like this.

There is a bigger "bolt" on the side of the tcase near the shifter that holds a spring+small rod+ball as shown in picture. You pretty much remove these for a twinstick setup, which is why I have this pic...If you remove this bolt on the side you should see the parts pictured, of coarse you may need a magnet to get them all out.

If you remove that bolt and have all the pictured then I guess the ball goes somewhere else?  ???

Well after more thinking I was trying to remember all my tcase parts, and locations....I'm not as versed in tcases as wildgoody....but these links helped me remember more, and might be helpful for future "searchers."

Hey dudes! I'm back for a few minutes again,Wild you were right,it's the interlocking ball in between the two shafts that I forgot,so I opened it and put it back where it belongs,at this this point I dont need 2wd low anyway, until I find a proper
shift boot system, like i said before I'm pretty anal in keeping everything stock looking as much as possible, well if all goes well
I will be installing the case with another tranny next weekend,my existing tranny is shot, needs bearings so I will keep that one
and fix it so that I have a spare tranny, can't wait to feel that granny low gear!
thanks Heiney for the info really helped me.I just got me a new digital camera,I have a few really nice pics I will try to post
the thing is I'm notat all computor savy.ah shoot!! I just spilled my beer! got to go be back soon.
