Spring lift
« on: September 14, 2010, 04:54:11 PM »
Im looking to put a mild lift on my samurai because my stock springs are complete trash and i want to fit 35" tires on it. I have a SPOA lift so i need the springs to be able to handle that. I saw 1.5" springs on rocky road for $400. Anyone have any opinions on those? or any alternatives?

The 2" lifted Bonz-Eye springs that I had rode really stiff so I would stay away from a lifted spring. YJ springs are the ticket to comfy ride and lots of flex. To fit 35" tires you will probably need more than 1.5" lift and may need to think about upgrading axles.

Rocky Road has a mixed reputation... save yourself a headache and search so you know what to expect ahead of time.

Yes, Trail Tough spoa
here is a pic of it before I bought it on 31" tires... 35" tires might fit but I think it would be tight and not offer much space for suspension up travel with out hitting the rockers and bumpers, height would not be a problem. The 31" tires would hit the rockers when turning a corner if I hit a small bump.

Give it a try and you can always cut the corners off the rockers if they are a problem.
