I know Sky... I have salivated over building your bottom leaf pack plates if I stay Spua... They are pretty kewl. I included you because you [reviously replied... and you have been around the block and know yer stuff...
Oh, ok. Well just from a RUF standpoint, I really liked them. They flexed well and they were easy to do. The thing I didn't like about them, is that the springs are weak....I bent the main leaf a few times on the drivers side pack. I tried to be careful and when one of the front tires dropped down in a hole, or ran up against a big ledge, not to push it forward. But unfortunately I did a few times. With the YJs being a wider and stronger leaf, I hope to not bend the YJ leaves, but time will tell. I don't really wheel hard and beat on it, so I did get the RUFs to last quite a few years, even though I kept bending the drivers side main leaf (I just kept straightening it everytime it bent...so that didn't help from a strength standpoint either).
The main reasons I went to YJs is I was tired of bending the drivers side main leaf and I was hoping to get more flex, by going to longer springs. But the way I had to end up setting the YJs up (because of some other mods I did to try to improve a few things), I don't think I gained anything, flex wise. I have some ideas on how to work around a few things and maybe gain some flex....if they work, then I'll love the YJs...but at this point I am just tolerating them.
