Diesel, T-case and 29's.
« on: February 03, 2020, 10:08:05 AM »
Just picked a unmutilated, rust free, nicely patinaed, red tin-top from Arizona.

I got it for a great price given the T-case was stuck in neutral. The typical part fixed the issue; however in doing so, I uncovered that the counter shaft had worked its way out the case, far enough to break off a piece of the shift cups lip.

With that said, I will be rebuilding the case; which leads me to my question and reason for this post.

I am keeping this build pretty mild. Complete OME spring under lift with 1" extended shackles and 29's. (All parts are in)

I will be doing a VW diesel swap with this build as well (1.9L AAZ) via ACME's swap kit.

Anyways, given I will be rebuilding the case, I will be running 29's and it will have the diesel engine, should I stay with the stock t-case gearing? I think anything over 4.16 would not suite the diesel for highway driving. (I know there are tradeoffs for highway and off road performance. Just Looking for some solid advice, so thank you in advance.
