« on: December 12, 2011, 02:53:05 PM »
Im about to put a Toyota 3c engine in my Suzuki Samurai. Im wondering if anyone knows offhand if I will run into any problems with using my original gearbox.... I would love any input from someone who has put a toyota engine in a Samurai already. Thanks

i had a 22r in my 86 sami. its a little tight on the firewall but i also used a HD toyota radiator and put a electric fan in front of it. had to trim a little off the grille but it was an awesome ride. i also used a 2wd power steering box from a 90s toyota( they bolt on the outside of the frame and fit very well). also used all the p/s pump and alt. if you do this swap do ur self a favor and get a top load 4speed toyota trans/tranfer. the front and rear driveshafts will be the same lenght and a front toyota ifs is a direct bolt in with out any cutting on them. i also had 35s on toyota axles. this thing was like a billy goat on a sand hill with 2psi in them tires (tsl swampers).
