rear axle seals?

rear axle seals?

need to know where i can get axle seals for my 88 samurai. i have a mini spool to put in but not sure what seals are needed to do this. asked napa and advance auto for rear axle seals and they say they cant find them. what to do?

What seal are you talking about??? The 3rd member doesn't have a seal, it's
gray silicone for that, and the axle seals as well as the pinion seal should be
easy to find, if not call Hawks or Petroworks, bet they have them

napa and advance auto have no seals for any part of the rear axle in my area. i dont know why. i have no idea about these samurais i just baught one and am trying to learn the ins and outs of it. fun little woodser though!!!

I think that is what they are called, worst case is get the #s off of the
seals and get them from a seal supply company, that's what I have
done to save big $$ on seals instead of getting them thru the dealers
or the autoparts stores

You could look those #s up online and get them sent to your door
if you wanted

You shouldn't need anything to drop in a mini-spool as long as you are careful pulling your rear axles out.  If your worried about it you could get a new set of rear wheel bearings along with a rear axle seal, Low Range Off-Road has them available for 45 dollars.  As for the third member, just use some silicone and give it time to setup.

Which seals specifically?  If you are talking pinion seals, then yes, they are the same.  If you are talking about axle seals, then no, they are nowhere near the same.

710193   timkin seal     they just dont know where to look    i'm a counterman at a small parts house took me 3 minutes like just like the ones i changed  10.93 each         same # for national seal   and parts master   good luck
