Ya, they make slippery wheeling a real adventure
There are a few times I wished I had the select-ability of an open or locked diff,
and usually it was while the back end was sliding down a hill that wanted to roll me.
I ended up pointing down hill and rolling it out (on the tires) but you can't always
do that. Over all I prefer locked if I had to choose though.
You better keep some recovery equipment with you if you go out where it gets slick
and hilly, at least enough to pull the arse end back up to the trail if needed
