spoa with cj2a springs
« on: June 10, 2010, 02:04:07 PM »
i've ran across a full set of cj2a springs that a buddy of mine had, and since the cj spring swap is ment to be done with newer cj or yj springs, i figure it would be wise to find if i should use these or not. they look like pretty good springs and seem fairly soft so i don't want to just get rid of them. the packs are currently 8 leaf in front and 9 in back, have about 3 inch taller of an arc than the sammy springs, are 2in" wide, fronts are about 35 1/2 in long (eye to eye) and rears are about 40 1/2 in.i figure ill rebuild the packs with 5 leafs (maybe 6) and put the full set on the zuki. would it be any good to use these or just find different springs? ive got the ability to make all the bracketry for it. good idea? bad idea? should i tackle it just like doing a normal cj swap (i believe these are shorter)? any comments?

edit:
compared these to stock and rears are just a lil longer and fronts are really close.

the front of the spring is actually on the hanger bolt (notice the ubberly long shackles?? lol  :P those have got to go

i know that one reason for swapping is because the longer springs give better ride, but im not too woried about that, im more worried about lift and flex. i might just end up leaving all the leaves and see what it rides like
