Where to mount steering stablizer with samurai/sidekiick power steering upgrade

Putting a sidekick PS in my 86 sammy.  The sidekick pitman arm has bump-stops on it that will get in the way of the samurai bracket for the steering stablizer.  Do I hacksaw these off, or is there a better way to mount the stablizer?

I have the same question. Where do people do mount there steering stablizer in this situation. I have tried searching for pics but I can't really find anything.

The people at Roadless Gear suggested a generic stablizer that clamps to the axle and tie rod.  My other option was to trim and drill the sidekick pitman arm.  I believe the after market sabilizer is more robust than the stock unit.  Does anyone else have any experience with this?

I am using this as an RV toad not a rock crawler.  Does a stablizer improve the drivability for roads and trails?

Here is a pic of my aftermarket stabilizer in my sammi (no PS yet)


6" SPOA with half high steer and 32's. no problems on the road as well.

I have TracKick PS on my Sami.  I removed the stablizer during the install.  Been running without one for years. The steering is so feather light its scarry sometimes.  My thinking was/is a little dampening for the "input" would not be a bad thing.  To that end I modified a TracKick pitman arm to accept the Sami damper bracket.  Then I reinstalled the steering damper it its OEM postition.  Works great (one way ::)).  The OEM "shock" is too long for any significant right turn.  Took the damper off and that's where I left that project.  I haven't had time to look look for an aftermarket shock with the right characteristics. 

Some one was selling an adapter bracket for this purpose but I can remember where I saw it.  I'm a bit dubious about it though (knowing what I know about the fit issues).

The folks at Roadless recommended a Rancho aftermarket stablizer.  I will let you know how it works out once I get everyhting back together.
