Having some troubles with my 88 Sammi and any input is appreciated! First off I have not had any issues with my trans until about a week ago, I haven't had my trucklet for more than two months and I drive it every day. It started with fifth gear whining and not having any power at all, today it started making a noise when I start it, the noise goes away when I press the clutch Pedal what is this?
Also it started getting loud in all gears kind of like a grinding noise, and when I was driving when I let off the clutch pedal my rpms would rev up but the clutch would not engage right away like it always has it was very gradual and slow.
After about 5 min of driving like this I returned home and noticed a trail of trans fluid, I look underneath the trans and sure enough it's streaming out of the front part of the trans.
Now I'm not very familiar with drivetrain fixes but I'm motivated and have the time to fix it so my questions are
What needs to be replaced as far as seals and. Bearings etc..
I plan on taking the trans out so is there anything else I should look for or replace or upgrade while it's out?
Also I'm not sure how much fluid was in the trans as some of it was leaking out.
All input and help is appreciated!! Ps this is stock drivetrain

I haven't heard of a blown front seal on a manual transmission, but obviously you have oil coming out.  Without enough oil everything starts going wrong, bearings seize, shafts wear, syncro's don't work, gears don't mesh.  When you press the clutch in transmission stops turning (and stops making noise).  The clutch is probably coated with oil and slips when engaged.
Zukiworld vendors carry a trans. rebuild kit with seals, bearings, etc.  Consider a new clutch also.  I would check the transmission case for a crack or hole.

I just did the trans rebuild with synchros and must say its a daunting task but easy enough if you have the gear pullers  and a good bench to lay everything out as you dissasemble.  JUST KEEP IT IN ORDER.

Along with the clutch as mentioned you might want to go ahead and tighten up the shifter with a new bolt (or larger bolt upgrade) and new trans shifter bushing.  They are cheap and easy to do while its all out.

Check your input shaft when you have it torn down.  Mine was worn from a bad pilot bearing and I had to weld the tip and machine it back down to fit the bearing (just added back some material).
