Tracker Distributor and rotor question???

Hey guys, i've got a 98 tracker 4 door, went out one morning and it would crank but not start.  i have the FSM, so i started there, and checked out the kick fix site (awesome info there) turns out that the igniter inside my distributor is dead, this should have been obvious because crankin i have no movement of the dash tachometer... SOO, ordered reman distributor, there are 2 options, .526, or .475 rotor cam.  the dissy that came out of it is the .526, so that is what i ordered, but when i got the new one i pulled out the calipers and measured the cam and it's .475.  there was a paper that came with it explaining that it is the exact same dissy, and that i would just have to buy the correct size rotor, the problem is, i don't know what vehicle model/year came from the factory with this .475 rotor cam.  my old rotor that came off the original distributor will fit on the smaller cam, but as anyone would expect it is loose, and can go on 3 different ways, and all the searches ive had checker or auto-zone do, it's the same part number for the rotor i have now??? thank you in advance

i should add that when i say "rotor cam", i am talking about the actual triangular piece with rounded corners that the rotor slips onto inside the distributor... and the mesurements (.475 and .526) are inches and are measured from the long flat side of rotor cam to the opposite side

Hmm, I've never known there to be two different sizes.  I'll bet that is why some rotors I have found will fit on the disty shaft (rotor cam) in all 3 positions (small shaft, large rotor).
If nothing else, you should be able to use the larger rotor on the smaller shaft....I have did that before (evidently) and it will work fine.

Where did you order the reman disty from?  Did you have to specify a year or anything, or just that it was for a 1.6 16V and what size the rotor cam needed to be?
If you ordered the .526 and they sent you a .475, I'd tell them to send you the correct one.

I just looked on rockauto.com and I see you can get a .475 rotor for a 98 sidekick.  So that is an option, if you want to find a .475 rotor.
It appears that the .475 rotor option is only available for 96-98 sidekicks, so maybe it was hit or miss on what sized distributor was used during those years.
Oh, and it also lists several other vehicles that use the same rotor.  So if you want to try to find a .475 rotor locally, maybe you could check some of the other vehicles and see if the auto parts store lists a .475 option for them.

yeah, i ordered the disty from auto-zone... mistake number one... i did also go in there with my digital calipers today and show them that this was the wrong distributor even though it had the right part number on it... so they sent out for another one, hopefully this time it will be the .526 cam, if not i'm just gonna see if i can order a 96 rotor, hopefully that will take care of it, also if anyone can help with another problem... in order to test for the blown igniter i had to royaly screw up the conector going to the distributor... i had to pull the wire from the ecm to the distributor out of the connector at the distributor and check for voltage while the rest of the connector was plugged in and cranking... anyways, in doing so i broke the wire off inside the connector... i got the little metal connector out of the connector housing, soldered it onto the old wire, but i got some solder up inside the connector itself so i can't plug it back on(i tried to clean it out and completely destroyed it)... does anyone know where i can get the female plugs that go INSIDE the conector itself... i called B.A.P. here in phoenix and they told me to check out Frys electronics, so that's where i'll head tomorow a.m. but if anyone knows a better route i'd love some advice...  thanks in advance
