Master cylinder replacement
« on: August 17, 2011, 01:50:53 PM »
Been a while since I posted a legit comment on here just lookin for some tech help.  I'm getting close to my project bein done and I need a new master cyl.  Upgrading to yota axles and the fact my old one was a bit leakey.  I have heard a couple ppl puttin stock ones from a lot of different cars.  What kind would work the best/would be the biggest I can use without modification on my 87 samurai?

Thanks in advance,
-O

I'm guessing you are going disk in the front and drum in the back, I would try a four door sidekick master, the 87 should have the brakes in a x config. so your left front right rear are on the same cup(line) on the master, I would swap the lines under the passingers feet area and look for a proportioning valve from a 1990-1995 samurai for the rear to have one brake line, that should give you a big start.
1987,1988,1988,1990 samurai's,  1953 m38a1,  1996 x-90,blue.1996 x-90 red.1994 2 door tracker.   only Dead Fish go with the flow.                No Hairy Nosed Wombats were ran over on the trail today.       My ZUK is Xenophobic.
