T-Max Winch Solenoid Repair
« on: October 15, 2011, 03:42:40 PM »
Just bought a tracker with a T-Max winch that is getting 12 volts at the solenoid but nothing anywhere else.  Any knowledge on redoing the wires and winch internals?

Can't find much on-line other than T-Max are sold under various names and they do have a parts department.

So far Summit Racing has one of the best prices plus I trust Summit.

I phoned T-Max, he said if while pushing the in or out switch and a test light is grounded and testing the three contact lugs on motor you can self diagnose.  If the lights come on, the solenoids are good and motor is bad if no light comes on while toggling the switch's than the solenoids are bad.  the T-Max has a power in and a power out solenoid, so if one button gets the test light then only one solenoid is bad.

The entire control box is $250 with wireless remote, I think that is too pricey considering the solenoids are under $25 each and you can rewire it yourself.
