1993 sidekick no spark 8v engine
My friend is out of town with her kick and it has no spark , they tried changing the coil with no luck. How do you check the module in the distributor? Or where else should I tell them to look before I go drag them home ? and they just called back and had changed the distributor also so I ques it must be the ECU ? any thoughts thanks guys for any help

ECM would be my guess on the problem.  Either replace or rebuild.

we went and towed it home and tried a ecu/ecm out of a rig that ran and still no spark,checked fuses got power every where that it should and cant find issue ? where should I go with this thing now ?dose the map sensor kill ignition ?

Does the fuel pump run?  On the 16v if you don't have fuel pressure it won't fire, not sure about the 8v though.

Does the distributor turn when the engine is turning over?  If so, that would ensure the timing belt isn't broke.

If he T belt is broke, the engine will spin like its got no compression

fuel pump works and its not the timing belt ,thats what they thought was wrong to start with

well the problem was a bad wire at the ecu plug and thats what took out the ecu and gave false testing. There was a wire that had backed out and with the vibration would cause it to make a connection / run then die.
