I have the asian carb, and it wont idle for love nor money, additionally the vacuum pressure jumps up and down alot and so does the engines rpm at the same time. I am not sure if the erratic engine rpm is causing the vacuum to jump or if its vice versa. I have blocked off the vacuum to the brakes and only have the carb with the vacuum.
any ideas?

anyone have any comments on this fault?
I discovered a few more symptoms
engines starts and idles farely high and smooth.
The longer it runs the more it starts to run rough and the RPM drops off
I checked the idle solonoid and it makes no difference if its connected to power or not.
When the solonoid is removed from the carb there is the correct action on the solonoid to make it open the channel to allow fuel to flow.
Currently the idle screw is turned right in, so the car is most likely not able to make use of the idle circuit.
how could i diagnose the idle circuit on the asian carb?

Can't really help as when mine started acting up I put a weeber on it. And then when that started acting up I put a MS2 on it. I have heard that as soon as the stock carb starts acting up it pretty much is junk.

I cannot understand this as the carb looks like a real good purpose built device. To simply give up makes no sense to me? Everywhere I read people just chuck the carb and put the next one on. Thing is if it worked out of the factory there must be a simple reason its stopped working now. Its not like it cracked in half or half of it melted away  ??? Everything is there and looks good, what has changed is the question?
Where can I upload attachements? I have a PDF from someone indicating what holes to block and whats wrong, but not sure if this is what the standard fix is?

Finally fixed that biiiiatching carb, took me enough goes!
must have stripped it 5 times!
answer is clean all the channels and jets!
change all the seals
set the float level
change the needle
use a very good gasket sealer
use a compressor to blow out all the dirt
change the fuel filter
the carb has three levels/sections that must come apart (the bottom, middle and top)
The gasket set from Nardek worked really well.

Everything that breaks is junk if you don't know how to fix it.  This is a rumor perpetuated by those who cannot handle the complexity of the Hitachi Carb.
