Steering Stabilizer
« on: July 22, 2011, 06:06:23 AM »
My stabilizer imakes a lot creeks and groans.  I checked the FSM and the bolts on eack end (pivots) are soppossed to be tight 25ft-lbs or so not loose to allow the bush to slip.

My question is where is the slip really supposed to happen?  Will buying a new stabilizer fix this creek and groan problem.

94 sammy

Thanks

Doubtfull that your stabilizer is actually making those noises. Start it up and have someone turn the wheel while you watch the stabilizer / front end to identify the source.

Otherwise pull the stabilizer and try to extend it. If it is in a bind or loose then yes replace it.

I am betting you will find the noise isn't from the stabilizer though...
I know the voices aren't real.... but they have some pretty kewl ideas!!! Tux.....  ;-)
