newbie... front clip removal
« on: November 22, 2009, 04:08:07 PM »
OK so i am new to samis but not to offroading or building offroad vehicles. i know it may sound dumb but how do u get the front clip off these things. ??? it looks as though mine is spot welded to the lower valence. i am also unaware of what needs to be unbolted as far as doors, inner fenders, core support? any help is much appreciated and if there are pics of this being done on here let me know. i haven't looked into it too far as i didn't want to open too big of a can o' worms. its getting a 3.8l Buick and 200-4r >:D so i wood like to take it off to aid in the fabrication of everything needed to do this.
thanks Erich

There isn't a front clip like an American car, the fenders come off
as well as the hood and the "core support" tho there isn't a core support
either, the radiator has a frame mount, so lifting the body is an easy job,
no need to lift the radiator

The whole front clip is unboltable. There is no radiator core support. The front fenders and inner fenders unbolt. Then you unbolt the front end don't forget to unbolt and unhook any wires and parts that are attached to the front or inner fenderwells.

Just look close you will see all the nuts and bolts. It is not a unibody like sidekicks and trackers are.
