I'm new to the Samurai culture, and I've got a '91 Sammie and was trying to find replacement front fenders but it appears that the year cut-off for OEM-style aftermarket fenders is '86-'88 model years. However, after examining some pics of the various years, it looks like the '91s have the exact same fender as the late 80s models. Am I missing something, or would an '88 fender fit on a '91 with minimal modification?

The fenders are all interchangable.
The only difference I know of is the 90 and later fenders had metal fender flares, instead of plastic.  But I think the flare mounting "brackets" are all the same.

Ah, the metal flares may be why all the parts listings I've found only go up to '88. Thanks for the info.

Maybe.  But 89s had the plastic flares, like the 86-88s.
