Exhaust Manifold Cracks
« on: May 18, 2011, 07:00:38 AM »
94 samurai TBI.  Lots of cracks in the exhaust manifold.  I see that they moved the o2 sensor a littler further down the pipe in 94.  Why is this??  Will a 93 manifold fit a 94??  PLease help.

As far as I know all the 8V manifolds interchange, unless
they changed the outlet location or configuration, if they
look the same, I think they will swap fine

I see that a lot of parts say upto 93.  I just can't see how a 93 would not fit a 94.  Should I just order a header instead?  Any suggestions???

Thanks

If it helps any, my parts catalog shows one exhaust manifold for 90~95 so I'd say a 93 will fit a 94 & vice versa, but I've never tried it.

Up to 93 could be the change over year to the 16V engine, which has totally
different manifolds

I still have the 1.3L and my cat. also says 90-95 same manifold.  I had some luck the Suzuki dealer had a b/n manifold and heat sheild available.  205 for the fold and 60 for both h/s.  I going with that.  Interesting fact the dealer wants 295 for the O2 sensor,  NAPA has the OE Denso w/ the right plug for like 30.

Suzuki.... do more with less.

The sensor would have been moved down when they changed to a heated O2 sensor.

16v engine?  Was there a 16v 1.3 in the Samurai?  What country are we discussing here?

Whew! You had me confused - I know the G13BB (Swift & Baleno) can be swapped in without too much work, but you had me wondering if Suzuki sold it that way.

segermech, if you haven't ordered the dealer manifold, check on rockauto.com 1st. $205 is mighty steep, might be better off going header by that time, let alone adding the heat shields. Not sure if rockauto has the Sammy manifold, but last i saw they have the Trackick both 8v & 16v, LOTS cheaper than that. Worth a shot.
Also, does anyone know, will an 8v 1.6l manifold fit a FI 1.3??
