How do I tell if I need to replace leaf springs?
« on: September 11, 2016, 05:00:57 PM »
I have a SPOA lift with stock leaf springs front and rear, along with some cheapo shocks. Samurai rides very rough (which they all do, right) and I was thinking maybe I replace the leaf springs with new ones and upgrade the shocks. Leaf springs appear to be flat, i.e. no curve to them. Thoughts?

The two main reasons for replacing your leaf springs (not saying their aren't more reasons)
  • Springs are bent
  • improve the ride
93 Tracker,XL7 springs & 1" raised spring pads in front with YJ springs in back, home built bumpers rear & front (w/winch), 2" x 4" rock tubes,  ARB front & rear, converted Sami rear to IFS, 33x12.5x15  aluminum rims, roll cage, 2.7L w/5 speed auto.
