Ok so im new at this forum thing as well as I do not have very much experience in mechanics. Aside from that I have my 87 zuke with a 1.3l the old 1.3 I hade in it was trash so I just did a swap for a working 1.3l I had it working great ran fine was a lot of fun till it took a crap on me. I had a friend take a look at it. Said it was my carburetor so I installed a  new one and she fires up but if I try to give her gas she just dies occasionally the carb will sputter as shes running. Altho if I have her idling at 2500.rpms shel drive but obviously thats a no go. I dont have money to take her to the shop nor much knowledge on carbs so if u gave any advice explain it like ur talking to a child or in great detail.... I have no clue what to do haha I just want her working again.

The stock Hitachi carb is a problematic nightmare.
There are so many prospective problems that can occur with it that it is usually replaced once it starts having issues.
 Do a search and download the vacuum diagram. Then make sure your vac system is routed correctly, And that you don't have any vacuum leaks.
 If that doesn't help, my best advice is to replace it with eather a Toyota corolla 1200 carb , Webber , or CV....

Thank you. I tried all new hoses and its hooked up according to the specifications and ive tried adjusting the float and idle up as well as the air fuel mixture and still no results. So I guess ill ditch this hitachi POS and try the corolla carb. Thanks for the advice
