I have the throttle body from hell on my suzuki sidekick 1990 jx. I haven't been able to truly identify the problem with it yet but i think it has to do with the actulator valvue or something like that, My main problem is its killing my gas millage, power output, and idle. it idles very unsteady like when i first start the vehicle and once it warms up it doesn't idle anything below 1.5 rpms where it should around 900. God help me I've been looking for months online to see if i can find a replacement online.

No cell codes? Check your IAC and clean your MAF with MAF cleaner only if dirty. Adjust TPS or check.

i too feel your pain. i have a 1990 kick as well. mine has never idled under 1500rpm ever. bounces between 1500-2000rpm most of the time, gas mileage around town isnt great, better on the highway though. sputters when cold as well, strong fuel smell in the mornings.

but with 370,000km on the ol girl, who can blame her for whinning... ive been looking for a ISC for it as i know mine is bad from working with the information on kick fix.

Had high idle and a nasty surge above idle. Cut the ends off all vac lines and reconnected...better. Replaced the vac lines..better. Replaced the intake manifold gasket...ahh that was the big leak. Idles any speed I set it at now. The surging was a loose TPS!

So I'm gona try and replace the gasket, hook it up the computer and see what codes i get. try cleaning with the maf cleaner and see how that goes thanks for the all the help let ya know how it goes.

Mine was a bad IAC. Same issues. I bet yours is running in "limp home" mode- runs shittier and rich.
