 was changing the clutch on my off road tracker. flywheel went on easy. when i was torquing down the pressure plate to flywheel bolts 1 of them snapped into the flywheel. that's were i need some advise..  do you guys think i should try to drill and tap the bolt and hope nothing goes wrong??? would 1 broken bolt throw it off balance if i left it in there???? a new one is 80 bucks but i got 250 into the project already. keeping it cheap. really need some advice tho... thanks guys

you need all those bolts, pull the flywheel and work on it at a bench
or take it to a friends house, or a machine shop.

They will tell you if it's going to cost more than $80, or hit the
wrecking yard and pull it yourself, you will want an impact to get the
center bolts off.

Use a torque wrench when putting on the flywheel center bolts, as
well as the pressure plate bolts, that will keep you from over tightening
and breaking bolts off in the future.

ya  it sucks. was using torque wrench most of been crappy bolts. ill pull it all off and try to tap it out then. mite look into taking it to the shop where i had it turned. maybe they will pull it. definitly buying new bolts

For clutch bolts, I'd go to the dealer.      if you can,  remove the flywheel, and CAREFULLY try and drill the flat side of it, you might get lucky and it unscrews it easily.   

I've been generally lucky on clutch bolts that they generally snap off and unscrew easy.

If the bolt holes are all the way through your job will be easy.

As far as bolts go, you need metric graded bolts, the stock bolts
are of good quality, unless the clutch has been replaced and the PO
used crappy bolts.

Check your torque wrench, those are like 8mm bolts and take like
25 ft lbs max, remember torque makes a steel bolt act like a rubber
band, and the stretch is what keeps things tight and in place. For
an application like a pressure plate, the bolt needs to have shear
strength, not really overly tight, just moderate torque will do.

What was the torque setting you were using? were you using a
3/8" drive wrench and converting inch pounds to foot pounds?

did the bolt break flush with the surface or is there a stump? With a stump you can take a nut that fits right overe the stump and weld it on the stump. don't go crazy on the weld and the heat should be ok on the seals. I've pulled alot of bolts off this way.

Keep in mind that if you are going to change the bolts that the stock ones have a low profile head and regular bolts are a little higher.

it broke off inside the flywheel. i dont really wanta tap it myself so checking prices to get it drilled at a local shop.

 specs say to torque pressure plate to flywheel 14 to 20 ft pds. dang bolt had snapped way before that... was able to get a chisel then a screw driver and it came out at the perfect price of free.. got new bolts at local napa... putting tranny in today now waiting on the damn clutch cable. 
 o and wild nice example on torque. always understood it but now i got the picture to

If the hole is threaded all way through the flywheel,and I think it is.
pull the flywheel off, put it on the work bench with the clutch side
 facing down take a drill bit that just fits in the hole without touching the threads.
And start drilling the bolt, when the bit gets a bite on the bolt it will spin it out
the front side.

Just for the record, the pressure plate holes do not go all the way through the flywheel.
