Hi i want to transplant my 1991 engine and 5sp trans into a 1993 4dr JX that
has an auto trans 3sp with the over drive. can this be done reasonably?
I have heard I may have to change the complete wiring Harness Is this correct? or
can I just do the swap and change the ECM.
Does the wiring harness have any connection points that will help the swap??
any info will be appreciated.
Thanks

A 91 4 door has a 1.6 8V engine. A 93 4 door has a 1.6 16V engine.
You will have to swap the complete wiring harness and ECM. The wiring harness has sections that unplug, so that will make it a little easier to remove the old and put in the new.

Thanks,
Sounds like I am in for a bit of work I'll be taking lots of pics before and while I dismantle the old one.

I'd suggest you disassemble the entire dash in both rigs ...
Getting the 3 pedal assembly in/out will be one of the biggest headaches and I don;t even think it's possible without the dash pulled.
Having the dash pulled also aids tremendously in getting the harness(es) in/out.
