None of them fit (8v or 16v) but with the right mounts and kits you can squeeze then in. A Sidekick frame is 7" wider. First you have to decide whose engine mount kit you want to use. Some are solid mount and will buzz the vehicle. Others are rubber mounted but you may have to raise the body or cut the hood (not the best plan). Motorboats work best for those issues.
Next you have to decide which transmission you want to use. If the Sammi trans you have to get an engine adapter and a minimum class2 clutch. Class3 is the best. Otherwise your new found HP will be burning up clutches. Those 2 items can cost you around $500. Consider swapping into the bigger and better 2wd transmissions from you donor vehicle. You could go automatic or a 5 speed with a 16lb heavier flywheel which is great for highway and off road.
Next you have to decide what you may or may not do for power steering and AC. I know lots of decisions but best to make them before you start.
You had an EFI system if you are the same guy I am thinking you are. You could have put in a 1.6 8v with either the 1.3 TBI head or a 1.6 head and used your EFI TBI system. If you go with a 16v 92-97 you will be doing an ECU and harness swap for the connectors.
If you do a 89-90 1.6 8v TBI you will be also changing the harness and ECU.
I can reached directly if you have any specific questions that I did not answer.
