Tracker coolant leak

Tracker coolant leak

Have a 95 16 valve Tracker and am leaking coolant from behind starter. Not running down from above but right behind. I will pull starter later but wondering if anyone knows if there is a freeze plug or block drain there. If not I am scared to look!

might be alot of things, doubtful its a crack or anything, probably running down from somewhere else, i have a 16v on a stand in the garage, ill try to get out to take a look tomorrow

Thanks that would be great but it is not running down from above. Had on lift at work and was going to pull starter to see whats behind it. I drove it to work so I need to drive it home so I might as well look at it at home. Waiting for it to cool down so it will be tommorrow till I look at it.

That is above, this is right behind the starter and leaking down onto the oil pan flange where oil pan bolts to.

Then you could have a crack in the block, but it would be rare, unless the engine froze
and you didn't have antifreeze in the coolant

Block is cracked or pinholed! Pulled starter cleaned  off block with carb cleaner and blew it dry. Pressurized cooling system and the block is leaking above starter area. IT IS NOT RUNNING DOWN FROM ABOVE! This engine has been in for two years and never needed coolant. I did notice some drops in snow when I was plowing this winter but couldn't find any leaks and coolant not down. Just put Calmini front bumper on and winch and noticed drops off frt rear. Going to drain antifreeze and run water for now cause I don't have time for this right now. Looks like I could TIG that area if engine was out. Damn! Did I say DAMN! Did I say oh man it's always something right now!

If it's a small hole, mix some Alumaseal in the water and put that in the radiator,
I don't like the way it clumps up if you pour it into the radiator with the coolant
still in the system, but it should seal the hole and save you a repair for now

Got some ceramic coating stuff where you have to run it 2 days with just water in. You then drain it and let the coating dry out and add your coolant. In the fall I will pull engine out and TIG it.

Yes works great but better with chains and about 150lbs in back
