4 inch led problem
« on: January 20, 2010, 10:13:26 AM »
so i have owned my samurai for two weeks and those stock tail light setups blow! everytime i came out of woods one of the lenses was broken to $hit from debris. went to do 4inch round l.e.d lights they are setup for turn tail and brake. when i turn the blinkers on the fourways come on. the way it is wired is one ground, one to the tail light wire, then one to the turn sig and brake wire. what am i doing wrong? is there a special way to cure this problem?

yep...  it the age-old plugging North American lighting fixtures into a Japanese wiring system.

Here is the solution:

I hope that this helps!

i wound up going a different route... i have to 4 inch round l.e.ds that i put on the tailgate after i centered the spare. now where the holes are from the old lights i went and got 6inch oval l.e.ds  the 4inch will be tail and brake while the ovals in the bumper will be tail and brake. will post pics as soon as the diamond plate comes in and gets blasted and painted
