alarm "beeping" sound?
« on: June 01, 2011, 11:21:24 AM »
so I recently bought a 95 sidekick 4dr. It has what I think is the factory alarm. I have a key fob with a green button on it and it says suzuki right on the fob. Theres also a little switch to the left of the steering wheel with a little red light that blinks when the car is turned off. I;m really not sure what this switch does, I've messed with it and nothing happens. It also beeps about every minute. Its really annoying. It even beeps when the car is turned on and im driving. How do I get it to turn off? What is the procedure for unhooking the factory alarm? As far as I know all it does is sound the horn if someone opens the door, completely useless IMO. If I can't get the beeping to stop I'm gonna take the whole thing out.

thanks.
Nick

The alarm module should be up under the dash, just to the left of the glove box.  It is a gray colored box and has suzuki on it.  Remove the box and all wires associated with it.  Or you could just unplug the wires from it, and that should stop the beeping.
