i have just about had it with the sami im stumped i just rebuilt the computer and its doing the same thing
it cranks and idles fine i can give it anywhere between 0-50% throttle and it will rev fine but as soon as i exceed half throttle it starts dieing unless i release the gas.
its starving for gas i can see it spraying during idle and i know its working during half and no peddle but just as soon as i put it to the floor it will die unless i release the peddle
the timing is perfect
new fuel filter
tune up
rebuilt computer (did it myself and if i had messed up im sure it wouldnt be running at all)

if i have a bottle of gas and floor it and dump the gas in the tbi it will run but thats the only way please give me some solutions im about to just set it on fire

have you done a fuel pressure test?

Is it running the stock block or did someone swap in a 1.6l?

Not necessarily.
If you have any way to get a known good ECM and swap it in, then I'd try that.

Was it not running at all, before you fixed the ECM? 
What all did you do to fix the ECM?  Just replace the caps?  Generally, there are also some bad traces on the ECM board, because of the bad caps leaking onto the board.  So these have to be found and fixed too, or you will still have running issues.
