H27A differences?
« on: July 11, 2012, 08:26:32 AM »
Hi all,

Thought I would post in the XL7 forum also as you guys would no doubt be more familiar with the motor.

Long story short - I've got a 99 GV with a toasted H25A in it. Looking at dropping in a H27A motor to replace it.

Just wondering if anyone knows the differences between the version fitted to the XL7s and the later motor fitted to the JB grand vitaras (05 - 08)? Are intake/exhaust manifolds the same between the motors (or are they interchangeable at least)? I'd ideally like to run the standard H25A injection/ECU (which I know is possible with the earlier H27As), so am hoping it will all just bolt on.

cheers,
Kris

I have replaced the '05 2.7 exhaust manifold w/pre-cats with '03 exhaust manifold w/pre-cats, and am using the front intake crosstube from the '03 also.  The '05 exhausts are larger, and the '05 intake has an intake tuning valve next to the crosstube (that I did not want to deal with).  I have not played with the 2.5 L.
