Hey Guys,

Have a few threads on the go but as I learn and spend more time on the forum I'm begining to learn how to use it better.

Still working on my girl's 95 2dr, which I was hoping to swap to 16vs and 5speeds. Right now it is a 8v auto.

Question 1- The clutch pedals are different between the 95 and the 96. Should 94 and 95 pedals be the same?

Question 2- The 2 dr driveshafts, are they the same auto / manual? I am using a 4dr donar so I only have a 2dr auto driveshaft right now.

Thanks for the help. I was originally planning a full 16v conversion but I am begining to realize that there is quite a bit involved. I am going to start with the manual swap first then go to 16vs at a later time.

The pedal cluster changes between different models, but only in how the clutch pedal attaches.  The way it bolts up and the cables attach is the same.

The manual driveshaft is a different length then the auto's.  So you will need a new set of drive shafts.

  • I don't buy, what I can build
The 2 door 4x4 auto and manual dshafts are the same length.
The 2 door 4x2 (two wheel drive) auto and manual dshafts are a slightly different length (9/16" difference), but they are close enough that you could interchange them, without issue.

Thanks for the info guys, finishing up this swap soon I hope.

The transmissions appear very similar in length auto/manual for 4wd. I am thinking that I can indeed use my old shaft.
