« on: March 25, 2011, 06:32:52 AM »
What is this set-up worth to the right man? To all you Ladies that love Mudding the right Women? I paid 1250 for my rig , engine was on it last leg , i found that out when its developed a rod knock. all but 1 month 11 days and 873 miles after buyin it. It was supposed to be solid but it didnt work out. Im a Wrenchman ( auto tech ) by trade so nothing comes that hard to me , if anything i think this platform is perfect for a kid to learn on its all very simple , straightforward. I found a block that is very clean not all covered in oil and grease, rings need replacing , but mechanicaly all bearings , crank , rods , pistons were good. I paid 75 for the bare block with everything i needed in it. Took it to one of the best machine shops in Az where its currently getting new flattop pistons (standard size) and new rings , Made in japan by NPR. the whole complete head is being done up all seals guides valves springs everything. gasket seat by feel pro. New napa t-belt , water pump , all belt hoses , napa plug wires , NGK plugs new , napa T-stat and gasket , New optima red top battery and napa cables, New napa lifetime brake pads and rotors with new napa brake shoes on back. Weber carb , pace setter header honda style intake and 2inch straightback exhaust  to a straight through but quite muffler no ricer sounds here.Mechanically this thing will be tip top.
Inside i removed the interior and rhino lined the whole floor of the vehicle black.New black carpet headliner New doreskins from ZUK offroad. Used ZUK offroads pre-fab bumber with LED ends ,  and light guards. Primered then sprayed black then rhino lined black. stock rear rhino lined. Body is white . Stock height i plannin on getting extended struts with bumb guards and perches for like a 2 inch lift not to high with ZUKS door steps. Offroad mud fender guards are also sprayed with rhino liner. BIG-O over sized stock. new used stock black SIDEKICK seats with stock dark grey samurai rear no rips. Everything else inside is black. sony deck 52x4 with 5 1/4 front and 6x9s in back. The white paint is extremly good , all black bades with new oem suzuki on rear door. i was thinking at max 4k , but it could easily get 3k no problem. i mean people ask 5k and there not as good this. most are 2500 and there not half this nice. I also just ordered a 8k hid kit.

I hate to say it, but the rig is only worth what people will pay.  If your planning on getting your money back out of vehicle it is usually better the closer to stock you can keep it.  I have put plenty of money into my SJ, but I would be lucky to get 2k out of it.  And that is only if I sell it to someone who knows what they are getting.

For general pricing I usually go to craigslist and see what they sell for in the area.

Yea i live in az were these things are sought after. if u can only get 2k for yours im not tryin to be a dick at all but i fell sorry for ya honestly. Out here a samurai with 200k miles , that is decent and runs will get 1800-2000 as long as its a solid runner. The nicer ones with newer engines/clean interiors/suspension-tire upgrades that look nice sell for 3-4k , hell a lot even go for 5 or 6k but thats way more than id be willin to pay. I got a screamin deal on mine , it was a running and i paid 1250 . Mine is clean as hell , but a rod cracked a month after i got it. I dont feel ripped off though ,  because im close to having the motor fixed it will be brand new and i will have about 1600-1700 when its done and have a new motor with flatop pistons ,0 miles. I dont think ill sell it cause it will have a new motor and im customizing the whole thing esp the Susp/tires , new seats , tons of things, i think when im done i wont have a problem getting 3500 as that seems to be the medium price people pay out here for nicee ones. Theres a guy who wants to give me 2500 for mine just when im done with the motor cause itll run as good as it did from the factory but faster but im not tryin to sell it ,atleast yet. I like the softops a lot , i got a rarer one though, being a 88.5 hardtop. its also got a new 1k paint job the previous owner just did last year , its came oem white , and he had it done that same color. After though motor goes in and i have my seats re-upholestered black Im having it done midnight black.Ive already rhino lined the floors black and re-did the headliner with black carpet. Thinkin of puttin black carpet on the floors to.
