I know it works wondering on the difference in coil size and height?

I'm looking for a bit stiffer spring in the rear . To level out with my trailer.

I have XL-7 Springs on my 01 tracker but have logged 0 miles since installing.  Here is what I have, rear are 968 and front are 956, open ARB's guide to read spec on springs.  The rear springs are wound smaller at top but fit, I had to unbolt both shocks and they went in with spacers. http://www.arbusa.com/uploads/PDF/accessorizeYourRig/suzukiVitaraGrandVitara.pdf
I also have RRO coil spacers and a body lift plus a pan hard relocate bracket but here is the outcome of install.

I have a set her i hope tre tru XL7 lol. Im gonna put them on the GV cause it sags a bit.

yes do the xl7 springs they work great especially pulling a trailer...when unloaded will sit about 3/4" higher in the rear.  i need some stiffer shocks for mine tho the mustang shocks cant handle them unloaded since they are a stiffer ride...great for catching air

After a few short uses with 29 inch tires I noticed the rear has unsprung weight on speed humps, could be a huge tire, winch and rear battery and not 100% the XL-7 springs. After I drive it some more with the bigger 31 inch tires I will see if I can pinpoint why I feel the sudden launch into space on speed humps. I may buy one of Alteredegos rear bumpers with swing arm, as I feel the heavy wheel may hurt the rear door.  I have not even driven offroad yet with the ZL-7 springs.

My guess is you are not getting enough damping from the rear shocks.

you mean those 100K mile stockers with a spacer block???  The cheapest and easiest mod is the last to be done.

Evene if they are in as-new condition, the zingier springs and heavy load suggest you will need more damping than stock.  Maybe XL-7 shocks?

the xl7 shocks wouldnt have long enough travel with the spring spacers in there unless you used a shock spacer but then you are missing out on extra travel....im still trying to figure out what shocks to run with xl7 springs and 2" spacers in the rear...mustang shocks hanging in there for now but its obvious they are not stiff enough...any other suggestions?

I just installed the Rancho 5158's in my GV with 2" spring spacers and longer springs. I bought the springs from the classifieds on here and the claim was that they were 2" lift Ironman springs for the GV. They were thicker coils and did have about 1 more turn than the OEM springs.

The Rancho 5158's specs are:

collapsed: 13.060
extended: 20.920
travel: 7.860

Anyway, they're working great with my setup, I feel I've got almost 50/50 suspension rates in the front and rear. Feels like it should.

All I had to do to get the Ranchos to work was to steal the bolt sleeves out of the bushings from my OEM shocks.
