Coil Spacer Lift Help or Hurt?
« on: September 13, 2007, 10:57:41 AM »
Does a coil spacer suspension lift help or impair off road capabilites, aside from the fact you get more ground clearance and can fit taller tires?

I'm asking about rock crawling, ascendind and decending steeps etc, and how the change in suspension articulation affects these issues.

A 2" spacer works very good, and its all you'll need for most offroading. I have 2" suspension and 3" body with 30" tires and a lunchbox locker and I can do ANYTHING a typical Jeep can do!
Also I have the automatic and it works MUCH better than a stick cause you can crawl over things slowly. ANd it (the torque converter ) acts like lower gearing.
I live in Colorado and you lose a lot of horsepower in the hi country but it still enough to do 7-8 rated trails.
