Hi guys!
I just had my Grand Vitara 2.5L V6 overhauled. It only ran 130,000+ kms on the odo when I had it overhauled. My reasons were primarily of the leaking crankshaft seal and strange engine noise. As it turned out the problems were dried and cracked crankshaft oil seal and worn out timing chains and guides. I had it all replaced with genuine suzuki parts, no problem there. It also turned out I already had some poor combustion due to leaks in some valves, so I had the valve seats cut, so I also replaced the cylinder head gaskets and valve seals. My mechanic had my valve lash adjusters "reconditioned" by first leaving them soaked in gasoline and then finally cleaned in lacquer thinner. He purged the insides of the adjusters by repeatedly depressing and releasing the center part (the one that actually contacts the valve stem). I too had taken part in the activity and noticed that not all adjusters needs the same equal amount of pressure to depress to its extent.
To make my story short, we had it running already. The problem now is that it idles roughly, well i dont know if its the right term. As I feel it, the car seems to vibrate when its idling. Also I noticed while running it lacks power and like pressing a nitrous button it suddenly jolts forward with awesome power. My mechanic says that maybe a valve or some of it is not seatin well or the adjusters could be stucked making the valve not seat so well or the adjusters could be stuck and not bleed right making the valve not seat so well thus the erratic and sudden power surge.
What do you think guys?
