Life Expectancy of GV Shocks & Struts?
« on: April 09, 2006, 07:35:14 PM »
I have had to order a new set of rear shocks for my 2002 GV, with 108k on it.  How much life have other people been able to get out of their rear shocks?  How bout the fronts?

108k is pretty good for a set of shocks.  I have 55k and expect that my Tracker will ride a little better when I replace the shocks after installing my lift.

I'm not sure about the front, they are a little more pricey since they are struts.  If you want a quality strut OME is supposed to have better dampening and wear then just about anything else you will find for GV's.  They are also one of the few struts that give you more droop.

Wow, a lot of km!
Mine lasted only 30.000km before both struts started to leak oil! :o

I've got 256k on my '01 tracker, checked ride height versus the neighbors '03 and it seems unchanged, will retire them when I do the lift I guess.

Thanks, Guys.

At only $68 each, I'm definately not complaining.  Suzuki seems to be very resonable when it comes to consumable or commodity items.  I was quoted $66 and $62 each for mystery brand shocks.  No KYB dealer in my end of town.  If there was, I might have bought those.  KYB has Gas-A-Just listed for the GV!

Shockes have almost nothiing to do with ride hieght.  Their just there to control movement of the springs.  If you're lossing ride hieght like me  :( it's your spings.
