Mine was 3" suspension lift with Japaness BBlanks springs, struts and shocks. It's a longer strut. But I had bought the Calmini 2.5" kit and now fitting it and hope can fininsh at this weekend.

Are you going to keep your 3" springs ???  I'm useing VTTR 3" lift springs with my Calimin kit. The ride is better with VTTR springs.

is that longer strut avaliable in the US? if so I'm getting a set of those when my ome's blow out. I would imagine they are cheaper and better. my ome's are just a touch softer than i'd like.

why are you putting the calmini kit on? have you thought about maybe still using the 3 inch lift coils with it? seems like your lift is better than calmini minus the stock control arms. if it were me I'd just put the control arms on and not sure what else.

happy modding

I hope can use my poor English to say it clear.
The current suspension kit was installed by the mod shop. I belived that the longer strut made the camber changed, the shop just drilled the bottom hole of the strut bigger to adjust, the result was the camber changed always because the hole was too big the bolts could not hold the camber in the fix point, so bad handling and made tires worn out. On the other hand I want the Calmini's A-arm and the heavy duty springs for front 'cause the winch and steel bumper, people say that the Calmini's is designated to fit with winch and bumper, so the spring and strut are stiff, that's suitable for me I think. I will install the whole Calmini kit to have a try first, to compare with the BBlanks then cosider what to do.

I will install all the Calmini kit first to compare with my current use BBlanks. May be different from you my front is very heavy. The front height was 1.5" lower after fitted the bumper and winch, I had put a 15mm coil spacer on it to raise up the front. But i think the Calmini front will be lower than now for 1/2 to 1 inch.

yea, I was just going to say you should add some coil spacers to the calmini to make it a 3 or 3.5 inch lift. I don't know how big in inches 15mm is but I imagine about a half inch. maybe some good high density uhmw plastic 1 inch spacers for a good 3.5 inches of lift in back and about 4 up front. might want to drop the diff a little more depending on CV angles if you do that

good luck

The fix for that is to put washers between the bolts and the struts, and weld them to the struts once it is adjusted correctly.

that's a good idea. I'd only tack them though if it were me. I heard that shocks are kind of sensitive to heat and explode when too hot

25.4mm = 1in so 15mm = 0.590551181 in   ;D   which should give you about 0.8858267715000000000155101764764964400456 in. of lift in the front  ::)

Thanks IanL and Maroon Monsoon for your good idea and comment.

I think many GVs had fitted the Calmini lift kit and add a spring spacer on front, would someone tell me will the camber be changed?

Thanks!

the control arms are supposed to maintain proper track width and camber but when you add a spacer to it that all changes. track width isn't that big of a deal especially with a calmini arm seeing as how you are now doing 3 inches of lift with stock arms. you'll probably want a set of camber bolts when you do the calmini with coil spacers and get that thing into an alighnment shop after you let it settle into the spacer a bit
