99 GV v's 99 Tracker Front Brake Set Up
« on: September 21, 2008, 01:04:04 AM »
Can anyone tell me is there a differance in either or all of the following from the 1999 model Grand Vitara v's the 1999 model Tracker:
Control Arms
Hub assembley
Rotors
Callipers.
CV's & shafts.

I am trying to find a way of getting 15"x 8" Steel rims onto my 99 GV LWB and I was thinking about different profile rotors and callipers.
I have tried to fit rotors & callipers from a 96 SWB Vitara (I think you may call it something different)with no success and as we dont have the Tracker here in Ausralia I thought I might ask here.

Is it possable to get the 15"s on or should I just give up and go with the 16"s????

I have a 2" body lift and a 3" suspension lift including coil spacers so I want the 15" rims to be able to put 31" tyres but if I have to stick with the 16"rims, can I go a 16"x8" and what size tyre will I be able to get on.

Hope someone can help me!!!!

I was told that 15" rims will work with a 1" wheel spacer...otherwise try finding a 235/85R16 tire; Tall and skinny, it's perfect for these little rigs.
97 Sidekick 4door 5 speed, 1.5 spacer lift, 2" body lift, CJ rims, locked rear, 31's, 4:1 low <SOLD>
01 Vitara 2.0L 5 speed, 2.5" Calmini lift, 2" body lift, Sidekick rims, locked rear, 31's, 4:1 low, 5.13 diffs <SOLD>

There's no trying, most tire shops will have these!  My new winter tires are 215/85/16, which is a 30.5"x8.5"
My problem is finding a set of steel 16" GV wheels  >:(

I dont have a brand in mind, I am just looking for the right profile and offset and a brand that comes in black. do you have some pics you can show me and did you need longer studs with your wheel spacers?

I got my steelies cheap from a Zook dealer as take-offs from upgrades.  Since it's been years, I'm not sure if any dealers still have them kicking around.
