Thanks guys.... I, too, am in love with it. It is the best of both worlds... I can cruise |removethispart|@ 60-70 mph all day AND go anywhere I want to go off road. I still need to build the cage and put an ARB in the front, but it is basically DONE! I started on it 1 Year ago and worked non stop in my free time. When I started, the passenger's side front framerail was bent, beyond repair... so, out it came (from the pass. front seat forward) and in went a donor frame "clip." It only had 21,000 miles on it, so I knew I had to save it.

Hey,

I'm doing a SAS on my 00 GV.  Was concerned about gearing, as stock is 4.88, and going to 5.71 for 35"s didn't seem tall enuff.  You put in a Kicker 3 clone?  Did you have any issues with the fine-spline output of the later year Kick t-case?  I have a 4.26 gear set in the Kick case, and figured I *could* run a stock Sammy case for that reduction (to get to 35"s) and make up for the rest with the power of the Zook big-block (185hp).  I was concerned that the Sammy t-case would blow with the torque of the 4.26:1 going into it, backed by the V6 and auto.

Also, you running your D/S offset from the case to a centered axle?  How is that working out?  Vibes acceptable?  I was thinking of running a Toy front with the 3" wide kit and a Sky off-set rear axle to help out on the D/S lining up.  Your thought if you would?

Well, I started with a 2wd.... So, I hung a Samurai t-case behind the 2wd auto transmission. With the samurai (high range) reduction, 5.29's should put you right on the $ with 35's... If you use a GOOD t-case bucket (Ie: Mighty-Kong, Rock4x DIY bucket, etc) you should be in pretty good shape. Also, I would recommend the upgraded front output shaft in the Samurai case.

The offset driveshaft is working out GREAT! There are virtually NO VIBES. Actually, the way mine worked out, I am running a stock length Samurai front driveshaft in the rear and it is a PERFECT fit.  ;D I will be upgrading it to a D.O.M./ Schedule 40 with toyota U-joints (like my front), but until I land it on a rock, it will work fine...

Very kewl.  I hope you don't mind me picking your brain as I get started on this when snow flys.

If I go the Sammy case route, I'll use a Kicker3 to tie it together since I'm 4x4 already.  I plan on selling the 4.24 t-case ithats currently n it to pay for the Kicker, and run a stock case as the underdrive.  I've got a late-model EFI Sammy case, which has both the larger output, large flanges and the thicker case so I'd be set there.

Now on to the spring set up and steering.  Did you use a Toy IFS box?  How did you overcome the ridiculously large frame horn?  Did you need to cut it?  Got any pics?

As for springs, how did they line up to the frame? You used YJs, right?  I'm planning on S/R with YJs, but haven't yet measured the frame width and compare it to the spring perch width.

kudos again for a nice sweet ride.  Any pics you could put of on the linkage and stuff would help out me and many others as these "big-block" musclezooks become afforable enuff for others to start modifying,
