Well....it took long enough, since I've been very busy, but here they are....pics of the new Rocky Road Supersliders on my 99 GV.  These things rock!   :P  I know you're all jealous.

Davyboy,

did you tap holes through your frame rail to mount these with some grade 8 bolts and washers?  Could you get some pics of under neath the kick panels so I can see where they bolted to the body?

If it's like their previous rails, you drill holes in the frame for self tappers. The existing body holes are reused.  WAY easy.

I do seem to recall maybe having to slot a hole or two on the rails, but nothing remotely complicated.

Yup....reuses the holes on the bottom of the rocker panels.  Very easy.  You just remove the plastic fasteners and use the bolts and nuts instead.  You might have to fight a little to get the washers on the top side to sit flush.  There isn't a lot of wiggle room.  All in all, still pretty easy.  Mounting to the frame is also very easy, as long as you have a good high-speed drill.  Line it up, hold in place (I used a jack), drill away and use the Grade 8 bolts (no washers, they're already built into the head of the bolt).  I used a 5/16 drill bit, and it seemed to work well.  7 out of 8 bolts bit hard and locked down firmly.  One bolt anchored a little less firmly, but still seemed okay.  Probably bored the hole a little less perfectly on that one.

Anyway, these things are great.  Only one extremely minor complaint.....I wouldn't mind if they stuck out another inch.  You can step on them to access the roof, etc., but they don't give you a good wide place to rest your foot like nerf bars.  It's a little tricky, and you have to turn your foot sideways.  Oh well....nothing major.  They appear to be bombproof!  Can't wait to find out.

i had to use a right angle drill for the frame bolts (not enough clearance for a regular drill between the frame and body).  probably not an issue w/ your body lift.  i had to use an impact wrench to start the self-threading bolt.  it's definitely not something you can turn w/ a small socket wrench

Yeah....I guess my body lift made drilling the holes easier.  I never thought about that.  I was able to start the bolts with a large socket wrench pretty easily.  Only one was a little fussy, and took a little more pressure before biting in.  With regards to the smaller rocker screws, how did your top washers go on?  Mine took a little extra effort (I used a screwdriver like an awl, banging it with a hammer to try and make a little extra room for the washers....I think it helped a little).  Man....still can't get over how slick they look, and how solid they are.  A great purchase!

I just started installing mine this morning. It seems they shipped me the wrong sliders as these actually hang out over my tires.  >:(
I bought these last August, they better not give me any crap about returning them.

When mounting mine to the body pinch weld I had to slot a couple. A few of which slotted completely open and I had to weld some washers in place, no biggie. I was a little concerned as at least one of my self tapping bolts seemed a little less than secure. They have however held up to great abuse and they make perfect high lift points.        NMc
