susp advise
« on: May 24, 2008, 09:45:31 AM »
Hey fella's,  Right now my spring spacers and bigger tires work perfectly for where I live in NC, but I'm moving to Utah in a few month. I wanna upgrade to an actual suspension system and get a little more into offroading when I get out there. So i had some q's about whats out now.. ???
Any word on zukinations kit coming out in the next 6 months and a price on it?
Can I use 1-2" spring spacers (+ longer shocks) in the rear with calmini springs?  What would need to change.. longer brake lines, drive shaft extensions?
and
Will OME struts/lift springs work with calminis front end?

Anything else i need to know before i buy.. please let me know!

Thanks guys

I can't answer your question, but I have one to ask. Where did you here that Zukination was going to have that lift in 6 months? I've been watching their site, and it just says to stay tuned. I'm about ready to order a lift, but I could wait another 6 months.

i have no idea when their lift is coming out.. i emailed them to find out though.  Ii was just curious if anyone on here had any info.  Say it came out in the next six month (which would be the amount of time i would need to move, then order and  receive the calmini kit)  I would probably prefer to get their zukinations setup.

I had emailed them a few weeks ago, all I was told was to keep an eye on their website. I think I'll hold off on ordering from one of the other places for now. I might just have to call Zukination and find out how long it'll be. In searching a few sites, it seems Zukination has been working on this kit for a while now, can't be far from getting it out, I hope!

you could just go calmini now and keep your spacers in to get close to 4inches of suspension lift.....

I'm not much into spacers and body lifts, I'd rather wait on Zukination's lift.

spacers work fine as long as they're not shit quality.  just because there's more spring in a spring only lift it doesn't mean it will be that much or any better.  the ride may be nicer though.  good luck waiting on this kit.  hopefully it comes out soon as i'm also interested.  i emailed zukination earlier this week and have not heard back.

I'm looking to run 32's to start with, so the 4" lift would be great. I have 235/75-15 tires now, only rub at full turns, 31's aren't that much bigger, so I figure those TSL 32/9.50-15's would be great. I'll wait for the kit, til then, I may have to buy another set of tires, but they can be my winter set. I'll just get my lockers and winch if Zukination takes too long, I think I'll wait as long as it takes for them to get it right.

if you wanna run 32's with a 4inch lift get ready to do some cutting.  i have the 31x9.5 tsl's and 4.25 up front and 4.75 - 5.0 out back.  i have no extra room in there.  trust me, once you get some 31's beside the 235's there's a good difference!

I plan on doing a bit of cutting, I really don't like the look of the small wheel openings. I may stick with running 31's, but I'd still cut it anyway.

newby here.
Does anyone know if BFG all terrain 30x9.5" will clear stock everything in the '99 4dr auto 4x4?
My tape measure says it'll b tight up front.

I think you'll need a bit of lift for 30" tires. I have 235/75-15 BFG's they are just under 28", and I rub at full turn. The back hits at full compression.

30's won't fit without rubbing if you don't have a lift.  look around and see what you find in related threads, i would say you need 2inches of lift for 30's.  as for rubbing on the frame lifting doesn't change that, wheel spacers or offset rims will help that.
