That is not a skid plate it is a differential guard, used to protect the ring gear from having differential housing smashed into it.  It needs to welded to the housing.  So it could work if you have a steel front diff.
93 Tracker,XL7 springs & 1" raised spring pads in front with YJ springs in back, home built bumpers rear & front (w/winch), 2" x 4" rock tubes,  ARB front & rear, converted Sami rear to IFS, 33x12.5x15  aluminum rims, roll cage, 2.7L w/5 speed auto.

Sean Devinney at AFTERMARKET4X4 makes skids for the front and rear of the 2nd generation Suzuki trucks.  He makes them out of 10 gage steel.   They are almost bullet proof and the fit is almost dead on.  He is an honest broker.  Shoot him an e-mail and ask him about the cost of a front skid for the front of your truck.

His website hasn't been working (for me) the last two times I attempted to visit his web page, but it is: AFTERMARKET4X4
'02 Chezuki Tracker with a 2 Liter and 5spd.  It works for me!!!
