Old thread - but I was prompted to check the parts manual - the filters are shown as a part of the a/c evaporator housing, so my guess is no a/c means no cabin filter.

Does anyone have a good part number for cabin air filter?  My 2003 tracker has a spot for one, but it’s missing.  I love having filtered air.

2003 was a "change over" year, at least for Suzuki, and the cabin filters went from vertical to horizontal - what's the orientation of your filter spot?

You can look up the part number on the Purolator (or choose your favourite brand) web site - if your spot is vertical, go with a 1999 or 2000 model, if your spot is horizontal, go with a 2004 or 2005

Mine looks like this.  So, guessing it’s horizontal?  There wasn’t one in there and judging from the original owner lady I got it from I’d guess there never was a filter there.

Fordem sir thank you for all your help lately.  I can tell you’re “the guy” on this forum that puts a lot of energy out for no reason other than helpfulness.

On my property there’s a beer with your name on it should you ever be thirsty and in the hood.

Oh also, are there options for filtering types?  My Mercedes has options for activated charcoal or pollen you can choose depending on your particular particulates.

That looks like the early "vertical" filter - the arrowed plastic "cover" has latches at top and bottom, unclip them and remove it, the filter is in two halves that have to be removed & replaced one by one - Suzuki only offered a plain pleated paper, there may be different aftermarket options.

I'll take you up on that beer, if I ever get to your corner of the world...

Perfect thanks.  Yes I believe it’s the early design after watching some YouTube’s.   Ordered one off eBay and we will hope for the best.

Beer we have here, they call Portland the new Munich and we rival any place on earth for award winning beer flavors of all styles.  It’s common here to have two breweries on the same block, and many pubs have over 100 beers on tap.   I blame the rain.  We stay inside and drink all winter.
