Each load was around 1000LBS, hauled it all and didn't even have to fold down the back seats. If I folded the seats I could have haused another 300 to 400lbs. I just wanted to share, I love how useful these Zukis are.

I pulled out a Suburban that was stuck over the weekend, while we're gloating about what cool stuff our little rigs can do.  I didn't want to.  My drivetrain's probably going to hate me for it later.  He wasn't stuck too bad, but he'd pulled off the well graded dirt road, one back tire buried (open diff), and his push-button 4x4 decided not to engage.  After jacking it up and stacking some rocks and placing some carpet strips that I carry with me for traction underneath the tires only to stick it again, I decided to go against my better judgement and just tug on the bloated family station wagon.  4 low (w/ 4.24:1 gearing), 1st gear, locker in the back, 31" Goodyear MT/R's didn't even spin.  The only camera anyone had was on my wife's phone, and she was spotting while I was pulling so no pics.  Would've been a great YouTube video.

I have hauled 1 trailer with atv 3 men+myself along with clothes gear and rifles underneath the atv on a 6 hour drive to a hunting campsite with a weeks worth the food....all in my 2l tracker.....took 3/4 a tank of gas to get there

rof rack came in very handy....

only 30 minutes of the trip was on unpaved roads though
170000kms and still lugging that kind of stuff with no troubles....not too bad

I've pulled (abused) my trailer with #1700 pounds of crushed stone two months ago.  Actually caused two big bulges in the tires (need to replace them now).  These Trackers/GVs  are rated for towing #1500s... but I don't know how many times I've maxed out both my trailer and the tow rating pulling "stuff".   Last Monday while visiting a friend in the country I discovered they were dredging a drainage channel near his farm.  He had a bunch of bricks and rocks thrown in a culvert to stop erosion that were going to be "gotten rid of" in the process.  I backed Buster down into the ravine and stacked the back full of the ancient bricks (from around the 1850s) that I found down there, put Buster in 4L and walked out of the drainage ditch and the field like it was a parking lot.  I'm a sick puppy but for the life of me I don't see why half the population isn't driving these trucks!  They rock!!!

I've dragged a lot of wood home over the years in a trailer behind my LWB 1998 Tracker.   Just don't get too crazy with the weight (the truck can easily pull a whole lot more weight than it can easily stop!!! --- ask me how I know!!!), and just generally take er real easy and cautious, and you'll be fine.

Let's re-title the thread "Cool stuff my Track/Vit can do".  Me next (again!).

U-TURNS!

Seriously, Chevy and Suzuki would have sold a crap ton of these last summer when gas was $4.50+/gallon.  Too bad they replaced it with yet another all-wheel drive unibody station wagon with a fully independent suspension (to their credit, one of the few with a low-range transfer case).

ROGER that.  Wife unit and I bought a "kit" greenhouse (displayer) at the state fair this past spring.  Broke it down into basically six 8'X8' square sides and loaded them onto our trailer (as mentioned above) which I had to modify greatly just to widen and lengthen the bed to support the weight, widths and lengths.  Drove 30MPH all the way home.  Could have gone faster... but the weight  distribution was all wrong.  Did I mention the load's center of gravity was dicked-up????  A couple of times going over hills I had that sick feeling you get when you suddenly notice you're straddling a length of det cord that has a non lectric fuse buring on it.   If I had it to do over again, I would have borrowed a trailer (one of two that was offered to me AFTER we got the traveliing circus home).  We traveled at night on secondary roads... but still it could have been ugly real quick.  I have learned another lesson (for now).  But on the bright side, all I had to do was stand up four walls, bolt them together and slide two roof panels on and BINGO: greenhouse.  If I had bought the unassembled kit and tried to assemble it and wire it you guys would have seen my pic by now on "Americas Most Wanted".

I'm hoping SOME manufactureer, somewhere, sees the light of day (and demand) for more of these basic 4X4 trucks with real gear drive and transfer cases.  Even if it is a market niche of sick people who like small SUVs.  AWD just isn't the same.

When I first got the Tracker, I pulled a telephone pole  and a  bunch of copper cable out of a pile of dirt a 'dozer made.  That was on my dinky little Kumho a/ts too!  Made a lot of dough off the cable for scrap ;)
