Vitara j20a engine upgrade ideas

Hi everyone.
I have just bought myself a 2001 suzuki grand vitara with the 4cyl engine, which i think is the j20a engine?? It has a fair bit of work done to it. It has a 3 inch susp lift, 2 inch body lift, 32 inch mud tyres, front and rear lockers, compressor, winch, custom bull bar and rock sliders.
The problem i having is it seems that the engine seems to be struggling (i think due to all the extra weight and the larger tyres) and fuel economy is shocking. I am pretty new to suzukis so i was thinking to converting to a v6 h25a engine (or something better)  or is there something you can do to the j20a engine to give it that more power. I am also swapping it from auto to manual. Cant stand 4x4ing in auto... I am wanting to use the car as an everyday car (so i want it to be ok on fuel) but also a weekend 4x4 car. What are your thoughts??

Based on what I've seen, i would do an engine swap. Although there is a turbo manifold available on eBay. If i were looking for more power i personally would do a 4.3 Chevy swap, donor drivetrains are everywhere and they can take a savage beating. its been done in these rigs a few times

Are you able to send me the link for the turbo manifold? I live in Australia so those engines are very rare here. I'm looking for an easy swap. Are the h25a engine much better?

Stef - since you're in Australia - go ask the question at AusZookers, the guts there will give you answers that are better suited to your needs.

h25a is not as great as you think. if you wanna keep it zook go h27. My h25a tracker is nothing much to brag about. its no better than some 4 cyl engines. the h27s have about 40 more hp than the 2.5. Fuel economy isnt anything to brag about either.

It would be good to hear what some actual users have to say?
But if its true they run |removethispart|@ 29,000 rpm and 3 psi of boost it should be a noticeable  gain. Although at 900 wats it should only run at WOT or the charging system would always be working to keep up = not good for fuel economy. I also wonder if there is restriction in air flow when the motor is not running ?

these electric super chargers are the laughing stock of all the car/tuner forums I've ever been on. when a user posted about they were torn to shreds. simply too good to be true.

The XL7 2.7's are mostly fitted with automatics, but the earlier years had a few manuals.  You need to have ALL matching computers (ecm, tcm, bcm) to get optimum performance. 
I managed to squeeze one in my 93 Tracker 2 door, running 33's and average 20 mpg.  It loves to cruise 75+ mph, and with a 5 speed auto rock crawling is awesome.  Plenty of power.
