Front Diff brackets
« on: May 31, 2005, 07:27:25 AM »
Hi,
I was thinking about JDMCRX's kit, using his spacers on top of my current +1.5" springs. But I would probably need to drop my front diff to avoid problems. Now I would be very happy if JDMCRX included it in his kit ;). But I understand maybe it is difficult for him to make this. So what comes into mind is, would diff drop brackets from a Sidekick work?
I can probably get them from 4x4Art as spares, and they are priced ok (18€ each bracket -> 54€). So if they worked I'd probably get JDMCRX's whole kit ... ;D

By the way, here are some pics of the brackets and the list name:
AXLE DROP LINK CENTER

AXLE DROP LINK RIGHT

AXLE DROP LINK LEFT

It's designed to work on a 3" kit for a Sidekick. I hope it works! ;D

bummer I can't get those over here. Those would be nice for a home grown lift.

Heres what I know.
No
Why you ask?
Cause the GV is wider that a Kick

The top brackets are off a stock Kick and the bottom ones are off a 99-01 GV
Facing the front and look towards the rear of Rig
Left one mounts to the diff side and the right one mounts to the right side of the axle

(Dang it! Uploader not working, had to use my Cardomain site :-/)
How do I know?
Well I had to buy the whole front axle off of a GV to get the steel diff so I installed the steel axle too ;D

Come to think about it, Go ahead and buy them, If they don't work you can send them my way ;) ;D

Wow, no, they wont work >:(
Thanks a lot anyway... I don't think I'll spend my money on something that won't work, but you can try to order from them if you want ;):

Calmani include the diff bracket in their kit so you could enquire if they sell them seperately.  I recall someone else sourced the diff bracket seperately but it was in a topic a while ago and maybe on a different forum but I think it was from somewhere in Japan.

Who is your spring lift by?  How's it going for you?

Anyway good luck and be sure to let us know what you find   :)

yes  i    saw   this  link  while  ago   and  even  the  prices  where  added  , but   i'm  looking  for  the  control arms  too .
calmini  wont  sell   the parts  seperatly,  and  another   thing is  that  the  new  price  is  995$ -  including  manual locking  hubs -  that  i  dont  neeeeeeed!!!

so .......

I got the front diff brackets from VTTR. I haven't tried them offroad but they fit perfectly and seem  better  (stronger) than stock.

1)did  you   lift  your  car?- if  so  than  how?
2) for  how  much $$$ did  you   got  the  brackets(with  and  without  shiping) ?
3)what  about  the  wishbones    (control  arms)?

4)  thanks

1) my car is lifted 4cm (1.6in) with longer springs. I might lift it a little more later on with spring spacers, but as always money is very short.
2) the brackets were $90 without shipping and $120 with shipping. But it cost me 93€, because the dollar isn't strong right now. But normal prices are $1=1€, so it was very cheap for me.
3) control arms are stock. And they shall be for a long time.
4) you're welcome! ;)
