fog lamps installation

I intend to install fog lamps on top of my GV using a lightbar.  Where can I run and conceal the wirings? Running it along the door pillar will eventually fray the wires and does not look good.

If you have a factory carrier, you could pull the caps on the carrier mount and go thru the top down into the headliner forward to one of the front windshield pillars (these covers pull off easily) and then down under to the dash.  If you have no factory carrier, you'll probably still have to tap mounting hole/s in the top, so do the same thing.  In either case, make sure you seal the hole where the wires pass thru the body with a silicone sealer to prevent leaks, prevent rusting, and prevent the wires from chafing on the metal.

Thanks! Good thing my GV comes with the OE roof rails. I am planning to install 4 rectangular PIAA foglamps, so I intend to to run the a pair of lamp wirings on each roof rail mount.

Could you please explain how exactly these come off easily without stretching/bending/breaking any of the plastic.   I just tried on my '99 and I couldn't see which way it comes off - pull towards me, or towards the center of the windshield?  So I pried it over a bit to see which way and I can see it's held in by these white retainers: so it comes off towards the center of the windshield.  I pulled pretty damn hard and it wouldn't budge, those retainers are now deformed, and now the pillar cover is kinda "sloppy" like the panels of an old ford.  >:(   I gave up before snapping anything, I guess i can just glue it back up to get rid of the slop now.  I never tried before but since I just read that it was easy I figured it was REALLY easy like the interior door panels or the instrument cluster - all that stuff comes off really easy AND goes back together tightly  :)  - not so here it seems.  (Also not so with that plastic strip that covers the back edge of the carpet at the bottom of the tailgate door  I had to get THAT off and there was no way to get it off without breaking ALL of the clips.)

It's been a while since I inserted my Sirius antena behind the pillar cover, but you are correct, there are plastic retainers (3) holding the pillar covers onto the wiindshield posts.  Open your door (whichever side) face the pillar cover, reach up on the door seal side and grab the pillar cover at the top.  Pull it out and away from the door seal.  Once it clears the door seal reach up to the top of the pillar cover opening to the pillar and slide your fingers down inito the top and start gently pulling (more or less to the oposite side of the car) and the top one will pop loose, continue moving from the door seal side back to gently tugging until they all three let loose. 

I just went outside on my Tracker and did this (to make sure I was still "trackin" on the technique)... it popped right off!  The actual pillar cover has slots in it, then the "clips" (in the case of the Tracker) are red tits that insert into the slots on the pllar cover.  It's kinda like those damned rear cover in the back of the hatch (yeah, I've trashed a couple of those also!), but in this case those red tits "pop" into a hole in the windshiled pillar to secure the pillar covers.

FYI, on removing the front door sills, after you remove the three plastic clips, you have to lift up and push in on the cover as you lift it or you will break one or more of the plastic tangs that are seated into the flat part of the door sill.  The tangs hold the flat part snug.
